The only way out is through

trip alone with me
          fluorescent cosmonaut
                triangulating neon
yellows, pinks and greens.

perpetual tunnels, infinite
          starting here, ending here.

dripping lava popcorn ceiling
          suspended, barely
                 amid breathing walls
                         jimi hendrix, poster
woodstock, blue.

play for me jimi
          eyes open closed
now and now and then.

Actually, on a little test of my own (way back when) there was a poster that I had hanging in my room of Jimi at Woodstock (wearing blue) with his head tilted back and his eyes closed. I was staring at the poster and he opened his and started playing for me. It was absolutely amazing. Everytime I hear Jimi, I think of that night.

i appreciate the references to Jimi, but unfortunately, he never played at an acid test... good guessing though. I really liked this poem anyway, however, and i would like to congradulate you on the runner up position. not many people got at what i wanted in this contest, but this was relatively close, and on top of that it was a nice poem.

This was really tripped out, really works for the contest.
You managed to tie reality into the stupor.
I wish you the best of luck.
