(Bitter) Sweet Sixteen

As I whisper sweet good-bye's to my freshman year
I feel bitter and worthless inside.
My sweet sixteen is growing near
And I still feel so young.

These fifteen years
Went by so quick.
Through the smiles, laughs, and tears
I've learned so much.

People have come and gone
And after all this time
I'm still sad, confused, and withdrawn
I don't think anyone really understands me.

It seems so strange
That in a few years I'll be on my own.
Things are going to change,
And I don't feel ready in the least.

I'm naive, out of place, and numb
Who knows where I'll be in 10 years.
World, here I come..
Watch out.

This is a great peice and its the truth to me....ill be 16 in about 3 mths and its the truth.. it makes me wonder because where will we be in 10 yrs? married? Dead? happy? who knows.. just gotta live.. again thanks for bringing out the truth in life for a teenager.. we grow so fast, and learn so much but we dont know how to survive on our own. the truth is captured.
