The Dragon

The Dragon

Around the world their legends span,
some as old as when time began,
standing taller than any man,
proud and noble to the end.

Then man's betrayal sealed their fate
as fear and ignorance turned to hate
these noble creatures that once were great
are feared by many to this date.

But to fear the ancient ones is wrong
for to this Earth we all belong
we should cherish those wise and strong
before the last one is truly gone.

They taught us all the ancient ways
which in our hearts and minds still stays
and though our world and life decays
we hope and dream of better days.

And now is the time, to surmise
to seek the truth is what man strives
so are we fools, or merely wise
to welcome dragons in our lives.

I must say I expect many can relate to this as i can. You speak words of wisdom and portray suck creatures beautiful as some people think of them as evil devild.
    Well done on this.
Thank you for entering and good luck.

I think we could all use a little dragon in our lives once in awhile. This is really good.
