Aspirations

Let me walk in the awe of a sunset
Let the wind wing through my heart
Let the stones become pebbles to earn
Let them become the wisdom I gain

Let me become one with the universe
Let the horizons be the template that
Defines what I might be… let me be
As the flow of the river unseen carving
Gently all that becomes a part of my verse

Let humility become my crown
Let childlike wonder become my thunder
Let the four winds aspirate become my gate
Let peace and wisdom be the wand in me
Let me tolerate the flaws in reality

Let me remember it is not age that defines
The depth of the river… it is how the
River flows that defines

Hello E A Collins thank you for taking the time to stop by and share your warm comments and querry And enthustiastic generous applause Poetry to (me) becomes the the "message" applied with factors that I believe (to me) that are important ... the music in the words... the wisdom therein... excision of soul (truth of self) form and meter are quite important to others (not to me) basically I would say a poem is like giving birth ... it becomes your child your creation perfect or imperfect... unique to each self as they/you/I would take the time to nurture and create

    Wishing you a glorious day

    Nice write

Nice flow and good , solid imagery. Whuy did you choose to change the pattern of the 2nd verse and the 4th verse, and make these two different from eachother as well? Not that it lessened the poem, but it did break the flow a small bit.

This is a powerful write of what one wishes to be at all times . I just wonder if any of us are capable of being all of this at all times , for it is in human nature to fail now and then. Never the less , what a motto to live by and to strive to come close to all of these aspirations My very best wishes in this contest

    -Credo-
Your authors comments explain it all. This too is my credo, or the one that I strive for. You've pretty much captured the essence of peace, desiring peace, finding peace, and being peace. It all comes from within, as we see out defining the reality we see.

Hello Dear Friend... O' Almighty one I always look forward to your poetic, warm insightful comments Of course please feel free to have this engraved to a plaque and when you are up to it please write one of your own and send it to me so that I can have it carved also and then you will have two... as well as myself it is so beautiful for me to see the inspirational words of others as well as to feel the warmth in others when I have touched them... we are all flowers in the garden of life ... sometimes not enough too much sun, water, tendering, we become swatches... unknown dimensions of self it is then we fall to the shade, seek the sun, to overcome the needs within Many blessings my friend

This is a beautiful affirmation and credo...can I take this and have it engraved on a plaque and hung on my wall? I think that by opening up our hearts and allowing it to absorb all of the beauty and graciousness that life has to offer. Unfortunately, I haven't done that much lately, but then again at this point in time, I really don't have any incentive of my own to do so. So, this is why I'd like to borrow yours. This is beautifully written and inspires hope within even the most despondent of people.

    Many blessings,

If we had awards for graphics this is definitely a winner suits the mood of your poem, I really like it. Oh yeah we're not supposed to say that, Let's see i found it not only philosophical but truly thought provoking in that facing a ripe middle age or just looking back on one's life you hope you have lived with the gentility spoken of here and will be remebered for such times when you could have been a real nasty person and weren't.

First of all, The background is amazing! The poem itself is amazing. The idea was a great one! The lines:
'Let me walk in the awe of a sunset
Let the wind wing through my heart
Let the stones become pebbles to earn
Let them become the wisdom I gain'

I would love it if this would happen..one because the sunset is so awsome and the wind is so great..I just love nature anyway..
All I can say is beautiful poem...captured everything wnated to be said.. Thanks for writing such a great peice of art.
    Samantha
