3am Ponderings.

I'd like to have my chance
To live the life
My mother led.

And although she says
She's living vicariously
Through my young blood
I doubt I'll ever stay
On a hippie commune
Or sleep on a roof in Greece,
And when will I have the chance
To float down the Yukon
Or visit hash bars in
Amsterdam?

When can I find enlightenment
Through a hippie school
In Santa Cruz?

Will I have the strength
To leave my comfort zone
And live?

Author notes

Not so much a poem, but random things I'm wondering at the moment. Currently planning a Route 66 road trip for July, and wondering if it will all live up to my fantasy life and the romanticized adventures in my mother's stories and Kerouac books.
