Looks like war, but it tastes like chicken.
Do you happen to have any Grey Poupon?
Damn, that Eagle sure was finger lickin'.
The taste of it shall kill & sicken.
Would you like me to put the soup on?
Looks like war, but it tastes like chicken.
'Cream with that broth, should proudly thicken.'
If you will allow me to quote Satan.
Damn, that Eagle was sure finger lickin'.
The smell of it will leave you smitten.
That bird can drop eggs by the kilo-ton.
Looks like war, but it tastes like chicken.
But can a fowl-balding-bird sing Rasputin,
while feasting upon ol' Enoch's son?
Damn, that Eagle was sure finger lickin'.
We'll knead at that tit, just like a kitten.
Can I get mine sunny side up with some bacon?
Looks like war, but it tastes like chicken.
Damn, that Eagle was sure finger lickin'.

Unfortunately, I cannot stream them on my screen at work do to our firewall protections, and will have to look at them later on my home computer. I take it "street car" is some performance of "A Streetcar Named Desire," and "glen gary" is a performance of "Glen Gary/Glenn Ross"?

This is impressive -- the use of a villanelle for purposes of a political rhyme. At first I was thinking, this can't be right: Horus doing a villanelle. Then I checked out, and realize you have done many, many of them. That also explains why you utilized some more complex elements, not actually required by the form, like rhyming/half-rhyming each of the second stanzas of the tercets against one another. That was a very neat trick -- all the while using metaphor of war nicely to your advantage. I really like this poem, and also understand David's comments above about the catchiness of the primary repeated phrase. I'm genuinely impressed.

Not bad, espelially in an enviroment where this war just drags on and on.. This should be a song, Looks like war, but it tastes like chicken is very catchy.

I wonder if you meant to switch the order of the words 'sure was' to 'was sure.' And, if so, why? HMMMMM. Awesome poem...you must have a lot of enemies with such bold opinions. Right on!!!! This poem smells like war, but it doesn't taste like chicken. -
but the poem doesn't. this was excellent except that grey poupon should really be french's yellow, but I've heard you have weird taste, and I don't really want to taste you. nice and surly.
