So Proud Of You Charles

Charles Simpson is a sailor
he serves in the U.S. Navy
assigned to a submarine
underneath the deepest sea.

He has served four long years
and is a dedicated young man
re-enlisting for a few more years
doing for his country, all he can.

He sacrifices being far away
from dear friends and family
gone for six months at a time
a submarine can be very lonely.

I love him dearly as my son
I shall miss him as he sets sail
but I will send him all my love
through letters and the email.

Charles I am so proud of you
when you call me mom I smile
no matter how far away you sail
I'll love you each and every mile.

It takes a special person like you
to volunteer for a submarine
living beneath the white caps
where the sun can not be seen.

Your compassion to love others
the way you put Jesus first
the way you love Dr.pepper
when you quench your thirst

You duty to your country son
is only a part of who you are
your love for God comes first
He is with you as you sail afar.

May God protect you from harm
may you return safely to me
son you have filled my heart
since we have met on allpoetry.

Author notes

EVERYDAY HEROES

Dear Charles, I am so proud that you call me your mom. It is the nicest thing you could ever say to me. I thank God for bringing us together on this website. He has blessed me with a third son. I love you dearly, more then you realize. Being your mom has brought me so much joy through your music, your poetry and just our talks on the phone each day. I love you compassion, your encouragment and your sense of humor. I will always be here for you son.  I can't wait to see you  again this weekend. Spending Memorial Day weekend with me and my family will be so special for me. I am so proud of you serving in the Navy. You are a dear sweet son whom I will always love as my own son. God Bless you Charles. Always and forever your Mom

This is a touching tribute to your brave son. I think when people are put in the most difficult situations, their true emotions shine through. I have faith that your son will be safe and anyone who reads your works know how deeply you care for him. I haven't even met either one of you but by reading this I can see how great your love is! I wish you all the best and please take care.

Hi there, I am so glad you liked the poem. It is a pleasure to meet you. Charles tells me about you and how he helps you with your poetry. He is such a blessing to so many people. on allpoetry and in his everyday life. I have never in my life met such a caring and compassionate young man. He will make an excellent preacher someday. Thank you for the wonderful comment. I have adopted Charles and 5 other young poets on here and we are a wonderful christian Ap family. If you ever want to join our family you let me know and I will submit your name. We all help each other. I just adopted Josh-13 this morning. All my adoptees are on my author's page with links to their poetry. God Bless you. Take care, Sandy

I have the blessing of knowing Charles too. Not only is he an amazing poetry writer, but he is an amazing person himself. I agree with the poem a lot but the part about him being your third son doesn't apply to me because I am not his mother like you are. I am simply just a friend that he met here on AP . I thank the good Lord above that God wanted us to meet. I also thank God for this website. I have met amazing people on here. People's personality shows through their poems like a hidden message. Your hidden message is a good one. Filled with love and understanding. I want to thank you for this awesome read. I hope you continue writing for the Lord. God bless you Sandy....

You have me in tears, happy tears of joyous love mixed with the saddness of when you leave. It will be so hard. You have become such a part of my heart and the everyday joy that I have because of you. Gosh your sweet words about always wanting to be your mom make me cry even more. I love you and thank God for bringing you into my life to love an to help and encourage me in my faith. You have taught me so much, you will never know what knowing and loving you my son has meant to me. I love you. Your Mom for eternity.

    What words to say
    when speechless I am
    You've blesseed me today
    don't you understand

    Your love for me
    touches my heart
    I now can truly see
    we'll never be apart

    I'll love for all days
    in my heart you'll be
    I'll think of you always
as I pray down on my knees

    I'll pray for peace
    to fall upon you
I'll pray your pain will cease
as I sail the ocean blue

Know that I'll be here forever
    to be your third son
    Our relationship we have together
    is a very precious one

To have a mother like you
    that loves me so much
I know that we will make it through
as long as we stay in touch

    So write me many letters
    they'll help me out
    They'll make me feel better
    when I'm out and about

    So pray for me mother
    as I am going away
For your love is like no other
    that you show me everyday

I love you more and more
    every single day
And that's what a son is for
    to bring happiness your way

Why hello there!! How are you doing? I must say that the marvelous words you so highly use for this young sailor is quite an honor to read myself. I sorta got lost in this poem because it was so profoundly written with such radiance and such love. The beauty of love between a mother and son is so contagious in this poem. Thank you for sharing this with me and I look forward to reading more from you. I bet this young man is highly exuberant and overjoyed by this poem and by your love for him. I've seen a lot of poems written about him, he must be a great guy. I've talked to him a few times and he seems very genuine and respectful. Well, take care and good luck this weekend. I hope and pray that it will be a time you two shall never forget. God Bless You!!
