A couple sits by a window
They share the paper
And discuss headlines,
Over fair trade coffee.
A tiny hallway leads to
Carmichael's Bookstore
I sit in the coffee shop
Heine Bros.
Where you can hear
Al Green and the Beach Boys,
And a man in a Slayer shirt
Can talk friendly with
A Mountain Woman
With long gray hair,
And she can talk to herself
Without seeming crazy,
Only happy.
And I can be alone,
But not feel lonely.

Very upbeat, I like it a lot. This is what coffee shops are for isn't it? Maybe coffee affects the parts of your brain that control people watching, makes them go into overdrive.
Or maybe I'm just talking nonsense.
Anyway, very good. The standard for this contest is very groovy.

-
magical....i felt like i was at the corner table sipping on a cup and watching the folks too

This is why I love my hometown too, it's simple, and pleasant, atleast that's what I imagined you were getting at here. It's home, and it just seems like you were destined to be there, anyways, good job here, good luck in your competition writes, lata tata -
