Sonnet #2

My life was at depths unknown to true light.
As my heart laid to waste in unbelief;
Lost all hope to live in fear of the night
When I left all behind to find reprieve.

I walked through a starless world of torment
I spoke without passion, without feeling;
I could not find god and ask to repent,
I left my heart to die, my soul reeling.

Fateful irony brought light while I slept
Lost in dreams my entire world altered
Waking from that dream I sat and I wept
Knees hit the ground as my footsteps faltered

Opening my eyes to a warmth so true
Finding them fall for the first time on you

    Yep, I see Gaze beat me here. I thought she's like it. I guess where you're speaking of a supernatural being or an earthly one. Belief and love in that object can change how one feels and believes. I'm in the process of finding that out right now.

    I tried one sonnet, it stunk, so I tip my hat to you!

    Oh my! Thanks for posting this, I really appreciate it!
    That is the way I see life, no matter how bad it may treat us, good things will always come. All we need is to keep the faith in ourselves, not let our soul dive into a pool of sadness and darkness. Wonderful surprises might happen to us.
    That us a huge step to get healed
    Once again, thanks!

    Kissses,
    mari
