Darkness

The shadows slowly fade out the sunlight of this demented world.  Everyone goes inside scared of the darkness, the unknown.  They hide behind their materialistic ways, the person they pretend to be, condemning their true identity into the fiery gates of hell and into the shadows the block the sunlight of their lives.  One by one they conform into their rooms at the exact same time until the shadows fade away and the sunlight comes.  They hide under their covers.  Perhaps trying to hide from their shallow abditory ways. They dream of their manipulating leaders, and how they conform to their every command to avoid the sickening stares of the world.  They dream of being their selves for once, and not giving into the never ending prejudice of those who are different.  They curse the Differents in their sleep for not conforming and being so free.  They're secretly jealous of those whose souls are free, wishing they had the bravery to stand up for what they believe.

The shadows fade away and the sunlight comes.  As the darkness subsides so does they're dreams.  They slip out of sleep, and into the cruel reality of their lives.  Their daily routine starts.  When bare they are all their own, but once clothed they are now "equal" in their eyes. Its warm outside from the sunlight covering their lives.  Before going out they spray coloration onto themselves to avoid looking like the Differents.  They wonder how ridiculous this must look to the but, but yet the leaders said "pale is bad" so they conform once again.

Once outside they are all the same.  There's no telling them apart except from the Differents.  The Differents intimidate them as they walk down the street with they're pale skin, and eternal darkness.  They taunt them and poke fun because they don’t understand.  The Differents are the unknown shadowy darkness that fades out the sunlight in their lives and their leaders ridicule them for it, and the Conformist conform.  The Differents are used to it, and understand that this is the price for internal freedom.  They shun the Differents and treat them without empathy The Differents prefer the shadows that cover the sunlight in the Conformists' life.  When darkness comes they are free from the cruel stares while the conformist hide behind their masks in the walls of their homes.

The Differents despise every single one of their yellow homes and how they resemble the sunlight in their lives.  The Differents' homes are black and cold to resemble the shadowy darkness that fades out the sun.  The Conformist shutter when they walk down the street of darkness.  Most try to avoid it, but like the shadows that fad the sun it can not be ignored. They fear the Differents as they fear the unknown.

The sunlight slowly fades away yet again , and the shadowy darkness, the unknown, comes alive.  The Conformist conform into their yellow homes as the Differents come out to dance in the darkness free from the unknown.

Wow! ::mouth gapes:: Your prose and convictions are powerful and all too true. In school all the kids used to leave me be in the corner with my silence and black clothing.... I don't label myself and I don't know if they did but they may have labeled me scary if anything. XP ::is the least evil person in the world::
We should get together and form a revolution. lol We can meet every Friday and have cake and punch, and worship a revolution penguin named Bill. But only chocolate cake becuase everything else is evil. Bill says so. XP

::wonders if she managed to scare everyone away again on accident::
