when it (itch) it doesn't itch
it burns (and itches)
tender (itchy) tight and (arghh) taut
raw (eergh, itch, nonono) red skin
the softest (*wriggle*) silk a cheesegrater
on aching (itch itch itching) skin.
the largest sense organ (itches) on the body
a (makeitstop) burning, aching, stabbing
(arrgh, please, itch itch) all-encompasing room of torture
claustrophobic (no please help) in my own skin
clothing scratches, towels scrape, (argh, please, *squirms*)
wind tickles, cold burns and (heeeet! Argh!) heat burns
is it knitting needles (geezo, mother of god!) or feather dusters
that invisibly prod my (erk, agh, itch, help, makeitstop)
raw nerves?
And IF there WAS A (oh my god it itches, no please) god he'd
MAKE IT STOP!
Please make it stop...
Author notes
Sunburn. Sounds simple but can be really nasty and very intrusive. I suffered the above yesterday. Liberal amounts of calamine lotion applied to my back, the wall, the bed, the floor, my fiance's hands and jeans and the bedside cabinet eventually allowed me to get through the day and even sleep!

Sun burn in Scotland? Now I know the ozone layer is getting thin... just joking... I can't help thinking about Billy Connollys remark that the Scots look like road maps,
very unfair i'm sure, anyway this was a fun piece.
