As I walk through the hall
All these walls close me in I'm frozen in
This prison of my mind
No escape no door no window
All black all dark
Until I see the light shining down
in my cell
You smiled this way
All pain taken away
My world becomes a sunrise, colored
by the joy you give me
Shining with the light of your beauty
A cool breeze on a hot desert day
A warm fireplace in the blizzard of my life
What you give is more than just a
smile
It is joy and hope and love for one more
day
All the sorrows have been erased by
your face smiling upon me
And I know I can face it all
Because you smiled
One more time
Hatred from others that burned me
to pieces
Has gone away, swept away by the joy
in your eyes
All that I counted as lost
Has now become my treasure because
You smiled
Whether you even notice I'm here
doesn't even matter
I saw your smile and for a minute
I dreamed it was towards me
That is all it took to brighten my day
Because you smiled, all has been made right
I can face another day

aww this is a really sweet poem, you should send it to whoever its about

...I would have to say that, if it were my poem, I'd erase the first line, just out of the fact that it's not needed and clutters the poem a bit. Also, "brighten my day" is sort of a cliche.... Sorry if I'm a harsh critic but I'm being honest.
I like the idea of the poem though... I think we all have a special someone whose smile just makes the world a better place.
