I lost my soul,
my only love,
the tears I cry,
for the fallen dove.
Her death painful,
her life small,
the memories fade,
she answered the call.
The man she loved,
stole her away,
beat her to death,
the shrink said it was okay.
All I have left,
is this broken chain,
it's just a reminder,
of all her pain.
I sit here crying,
wishing my last breathe,
if I could just save her,
even if it meant my death.
Author notes
For my sister, may she rest in peace.
