Just forget about it
Our love will be disposed
You shut your eyes too long
Now the door is closed
The devotion that we had
Was slaughtered by our foes
We have a mangled mess, and
Now the door is closed
Inside it hurts so much
To watch us decompose
Bit by bit we fall apart, but
Now the door is closed
There’s nothing left to salvage
I threw us to the crows
They picked our love clean, so
Now the door is closed
I see our fidelity is broken
From the fractured bones exposed
You hide it from the world, well
Now the door is closed
Time will make us dust
Gone when the wind blows
We're a skeleton in your closet
Behind the door that's closed
Our love will be disposed
You shut your eyes too long
Now the door is closed
The devotion that we had
Was slaughtered by our foes
We have a mangled mess, and
Now the door is closed
Inside it hurts so much
To watch us decompose
Bit by bit we fall apart, but
Now the door is closed
There’s nothing left to salvage
I threw us to the crows
They picked our love clean, so
Now the door is closed
I see our fidelity is broken
From the fractured bones exposed
You hide it from the world, well
Now the door is closed
Time will make us dust
Gone when the wind blows
We're a skeleton in your closet
Behind the door that's closed
Author notes
I was just trying to show the decomposition of love (represented as a body); from love being naked, to its murder, and then all the way to becoming simply a skeleton that one wants to ignore. In my experience, we're at the skeleton stage, but soon the bones will become dust and blow away and we won't think of each other any longer.
