In Her Place

I remember her sitting on your lap
As you stroked her head
Her tears being cleaned
As I listened to what you said

When she cries you are there
Healing her every need
You listen to her always
And obey her every plead

For her you would reach
Out and beyond the stars
But for me wheres the love
Behind my battered scars

Will you ever do the same
In the favor of my eyes
Will you ever tell me you love me
And comfort my hurting cries

All I can do is sit here and dream
That I'm in her place
Sitting on your lap
As you wash tears from my face

Author notes

This Poem is for my dad and how he cares more for his girlfriend and her kids than his own child.

    keep on loving

There are few things more sacred than the love between a father and his daughter. I wish your father saw and accepted your love for him, and reciprocated it! I hope, whatever problem or reason for it being, that your father sees the light and loves you as much as you love him.
As for the poem - clean write.
