I run, free with the wind
Cloth streaming about me,
My very soul vibrating
In anticipation.
Around me, nature waits,
Still and silent,
I look up into the face of the storm,
Boldly stand strong before the
Power ridden gaze,
The spirit grumbles, its rasping voice
Deep and low
A young one flees,
Seeks shelter where none is possible
With a laugh I turn,
Run and dance, skin carressed
By the softest fingers
A tug and a push,
Hinting at things to come
A single drop, and then another
Finally, the torrent falls down,
I am soaked, slipping between each tree as
It bends before the storm's forceful rage
I laugh, untouched,
Silhouetted by a light so beautiful, so deadly-
To all but me.
I lie down, let the water
Wash away all worries and cares,
I breathe, each breath a joy,
A gift.
I am- alive
As I could never otherwise be,
Teasing, tantalizing,
The rain falls harder,
The winds pick up speed.
A crash, thunder booming,
Branches whipping at the sky
Life screams, resists,
But He only pushes harder
A branch snaps, falls against my body
Leaves scratch at my face,
Lightning flashes all about me
Just when it seems that I -life-
Can take no more
It is over, the storm passes on
Leaving me behind with fleeting memories
Of thunder's kiss
