Dan's Nostalgia 1

The old days are gone
and the older days are dead,
but the memories of better days
still linger in my head.

Isn't it just... really odd.
When you see the trees start to blossom
in pink, red, green, and yellow?

And you see all the flowers too, blooming
in purple, blue, yellow, red, white, and even a few colors that I'm not sure of.

Have you ever had a moment, when you see it all,
all the green leaves,
the green grass,
and the sun shining down upon everything
making it so bright and warm...

And you just want to cry?

I miss the days when I'd get with a group of friends
and we'd all just head out to nowhere.
After a while, we'd just end up in a field, or a forest,
and just relax, lay down, and stare at the beauty of everything.

My tears feel pointless, like my memories of those days.

...but at least I still remember.

Author notes

...just feeling nostalgic/sentimental, and really sad...

I want to just grab some friends and drive out to some random field or park and just... just.............

Heh... the first stanza is the only thing that's poetic. The rest is simply a thought. Hence the title is so bleh... I just have nowhere else to put this.

*hugs* I know, I can relate to this so much. Logan used to do that with me. It'd be at school though at Pembroke, we'd go in the field and we weren't supposed to but we didn't care. We'd just lay there and look at the sky or we'd dig for crystals and I'd work with the wind. Fun stuff.
