The Nonpareil

Rare finch

Author notes

Nonpareil is another word for the painted bunting. It means like no other. when I saw your background I knew right away I wanted to write a cinquain about this bird, but there was too much to write, so I wrote my first mirror cinquain.

It is truely a beauty of a bird.

Cheryl Cheers!!

What a lovely poem for such a beautiful bird! I like the use of the "~" instead of the seeming clutter of an occasional punctuation. May I use that?

I can see why you have such a wonderful following. Your poetry is marvelous. Hugs, Patricia

Wonderful cinquains! At first I thought that you had only one form, then I noticed that you reversed the second one.
Well done Cheryl, congratulations on your silver!

    Kisses,
    Mari

I have never seen a mirror cinquain , and it seems as if you did an oustanding job with it , and also with the beautiful bird that you picked . It seems that the background would almost be perfect camouflage for this little 9 well medium size) creature. Thx so much for entering , thx for yet anoiher bird introduction and best of luck in the contest,
    Reenie

    Hi Cheryl,
Lovely almost does not adequately describe either the bird or the Cinquain mirror you wrote to describe it. Beautifully done my friend and worthy of applause.

Best of luck in the contest.

Cheryl: another beautiful bird, though this one looks a bit ferocious and a fascinating poetic form to accompany it. I love them both and wish you heaps more luck in the contest. x Joy
