I Rise and Look to the Clouds

Missing image
I rise and look up to the clouds -
Where does my salvation come from?

The salvation of my soul comes from the Lord,
from the love Jesus has for me - a stubborn sinner.

My sweet Savior will never let me fall into oblivion -
He who cares for me, cares for every moment I live.

Indeed, He will watch over all those who love Him dearly -
He will not let one moment pass without us in His heart.

The Lord watches over us and keeps us from harm -
He is the light of the world and the sun of our lives.

He will not let you be harmed in the light of day
nor in the darkest moments of the night.

Our Great Shepherd will hold you gently in His arms
keeping you safe from satan’s snares and arrows.

Our Great King will move among us always -
He is Emmanuel - God with us - for all eternity.

Author notes

Psalm 121 is a verse I return to again and again and again.

I hope this personalization of one of my favorite psalms blesses you and  all who read. He is everything and everywhere and loves us so much! He does not want you to live in fear and darkness. I can't explain why this shooting happened but I can say with certainty that it was not God's desire for this to take place. I pray that something good can come from this evil.

“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”                                                                      - Matthew 1:23

This is my version of Psalm 121. I hope it blesses you.

    Fantastic

Oh, I love this encouraging poem, Sis. Like you, I am very fond of the Psalms. There is so much wisdom, so many promises, as well as deep prophecy in that fantastic book. This is a winner in God's book and in mine and should be in this contest, too.

Lots of love and hugs, SisB♥n

    Wonderful

Judy who is David's wife and I decided that since David spent a lot of time in Korea to award you the gold trophy. I awarded you the trophy for the gold but as I said it should have been a platinum award and congratulations on this splendid poem. David is overwhelmed with all the entries.

    Platinum write

What a wonderful job you did with this and now this contest is getting really tough and I wonder if I should just have a three way tie for gold and give each 300 points. Too bad there is not a platinum category.

nice ... although speaking for myself only, I would feel very odd trying to write a Psalm .. as David or one of the other writer's did .. gives me goose-flesh even thinking about it.. since they were inspired by God.. I don't think I am .. scarey thought to me..

Very touching. It really sounds like a psalm...a soft song written in times long past. Very inspiring.
Great job, and keep up the good work.
