Tell Her

When tender tears, like autumn rains,
Turn sunny skies to grey.
Please tell her that my love remains,
T'will ever be that way.
If fate by fortune find forlorn,
The angel that I know.
And bring her precious heart to mourn,
Tell her I love her so.

Tell her the pages of winters passed,
Must soon give way to spring.
The whited sorrow cannot last,
And her time will come to sing.
Within the storm,
Atop the sea,
The bonds we form,
Are poetry.

Give to her the moments chains,
That time alone might break.
Whose hurried cruelty disdains,
Her love as a mistake.
Tell her theres a place for her,
Of welcome celebration.
And all the things we ever were,
Are joy and adoration.

Tell her she does not cry alone,
Fore her tears fall in my soul.
As her love invites me, send my own,
That somehow it console,
Tell her her heart is brave and true,
and the true heart only gains.
Regardless of the things a heart will do,
In the cold cold autumn rains.

    Classic....

Oh wow how I wish I could have met you, sir. You have some of the best talent I've ever seen on AP. This is one of the most beautiful poems I've read on here. You are truly an incredibly gifted man. I know you're no longer in this world, but perhaps looking through Heaven's eyes you can still read my comment. I hope you can know how beautiful this poem is. I tip my hat and raise my glass to you, fine sir. You are truly a master of the pen. Thank you.

This is such an incredibly deep and beautiful poem! I smile at your wording and your dazzling display of visualization you have painted for us all with this work of art! A splendid poem all round and an equally beautifully done slice of poetry. Very beautiful poem all round leaves me in awe-strucken state of mind after reading such an incredible deep work of art. Dear Pat, I just revisited the site Pat and Dee created for our passed Poets and I clicked on this poem, though I've commented before you left us I'm glad to read this one again. I feel so close to you tonight, can you see my Dad there? Les Lee is his name, it's his birthday today and I miss him, he would've been 97 but he left us when he was a young 56-will you tell him Happy Birthday for me and that I love him. Take him to our Heavenly poets Cafe and introduce him to the others and get him a coffee. Love you Patric and miss you so much.

This is superb! It's just so sweet. It's the kind of poem every girl wants someone to write to her. I thought the meter was you used was perfect for this type of poem. This is just an incredibly wonderful peice of writing. I love it! I hope all of your stuff is this good. Peace.

this was.. so... beautiful! ::sniffles:: i can't.. wow, it's so hard to express how much i love this poem. there's so much emotion and truth to this and the flow and form of this is amazing. none of the rhymes seem forced and there's just so much, LOVE in this poem! ahhh! beautiful. the only thing i have a question about is, is it supposed to be 'for' or 'fore' in the second line of the last stanza. i think it should be without the e, unless it was intended perhaps to be a shortened form of before? well, anyway, love love love this piece. great writing. ::sobs:: may peace go with you

I was reading strmDncr work which led me to "Tell Her" As I wipe away my tears, I felt to much love in Patricks work. And so sad that people come and go. before we even get to know them, there gone. As we can see threw our poetry that our feeling can live on. How wonderful, May GOD Bless US ALL!

    To Whom It May Concern:
I came to this site too late to have made the virtual acquaintance of this talented individual.
I have believed for some time now, that if the subject matter of a poem, or story for that matter, was of worth and import to the writer, that the poem or story would take care of itself.
This fine writer of verse shows, in all the reading I have done of his works, that life was of worth and import to him.
The kind of writing displayed on this page, I, we, can only aspire to.
" Bury me under the starry sky,
I gladly lived and gladly die,
And I lay me down with a will".
    (R L Stevenson)
Best of luck to you Patrick!

I'm not sure what to say that hasn't been said already...I never really knew patrick and yet by just reading his poetry I get a feeling of comfort by him. It's weird, I know, but his poems have touched many a person. Reminds me of Emily Dickinson, never finding fame or knowing how much her poems helped people until she died...Patrick is being recognized more now, and every day another heart is warmed by him. In death we'll all meet up.

    rest in peace

    Exquisite!

"Thanks for putting this on the reccommended reads Tina"

Patrick always wins my vote for the most compassionate poet on this site. There are a few that follow closely behind, because of ther wealth of talents that writes in this AP community. I agree with angelica I would have come across this one eventually
as well because I often go to his works, repomen79 is a great source of inspiration.

The autum rains that I cry
Are tears that fill my heart.
They flood my soul to drowning
    When we're so far apart.

But when I hear your words
    That grace the winters past.
    I sigh within myself
For I am refreshed at last.

    Love You Patric, keep giving!

Patrick, this is soooo beautiful! You have such a loving, kind, caring heart! You're true blue and I can't help but love you, my friend, for all that you are, and the everlasting comfort you provide through poetry or other gestures, when you know another is in pain. I've missed you! Gotta keep better tabs on you, as I've been missing some incredibly inspiring writes that I SHOULD be reading. Check out my latest, 'The Singer,' as I think you'd enjoy that one. Brings back warm, fuzzy memories. And, yes, that's me and I do play the guitar. Lol! Love to you, Patrick, and bless you for being such a friend, as true friends are few and far between. And, always know you can also count on me. I'm in there for the long-haul too. So, lean on me too, when you need to. Okay? ;)Kelly

All good? How could it NOT be? For these words come from YOUR soul, and they are just as beautiful and Loving and precious as it is.
