It’s good to share a story whenever one can,
so I’ve chosen to share that of Peter Pan.
Of mermaids, and little lost boys,
Fairy castles and other joys.
A land of fun and make beliefs,
With Pirate Ships and Indian Chiefs.
Second star to the left and straight on ‘til dawn,
Flew Wendy, Peter, Michael and John,
Never-Never land, the isle to amaze,
With peaceful sleep at night, and fun filled days.
Peter told ‘Tinks’ to go find the Lost Boys
Before turning his head in the direction of a noise!
But with all the good there has to be bad,
And of what pursues this little lad?
A pirate, Captain Hook and his crew,
With Mr. Smee and old blind Pugh.
A fearful bunch you’d ever meet
With stripy shirts and sandaled feet.
The Captain looked up at what he thought was a blot,
Ordered the cannon to be readied, and fired a shot.
Peter saw what was coming, and shouted out loud,
As the cannonball whizzed, straight past through the cloud.
Wendy and her brothers looked on in dismay,
Neither of each knowing just what to say.
With a sound of ticking, there’s no need to look,
An old crocodile with a taste for ‘Hook’
In a previous battle after leaving the dock
He’d missed the Captain, but did get his clock.
Now very patiently, he follows the ship
Waiting for Hook to take that fatal dip.

This is nice, but if i may say so, it simply retales the story without adding much of your own thoughts about it...
anyway, good luck!

This was really fun to read. I do love the story of Peter Pan. I loved the Disney movie too. I even liked the movie based on the guy who wrote the story. I think it was called "Finding Neverland". Anyways, keep up the awesome poetry!!! Thank you for entering my contest.

This was very fun to read and I have used Peter Pan a couple of times in my poetry. He is such a symbol of the pros and cons of never becoming an adult or not accepting change.
I am not sure on this, I know you said it was part one, but it seems unfinished the way it ends.
would have loved to read the whole thing.
Thanks for your entry.
