~~A Ghostly Love~~

Missing image
A ghostly love I'll have for you
always with discretion...
Unseen, untouched, unwanted too,
but thriving in perfection~

A ghostly love can survive,
because it can't be shown
No mortal hand can destroy
what is never known~

As a ghost I will prepare
to face a brand new day
Nothing to prove,nothing to gain
as is the ghostly way~

So rest your mind, close your heart
Your ghost seeks no more
to partake of the mortal man
or a love that's not in store~

As a ghost I will live
to my own life's content
Untouched,unseen, unwanted
as it was always meant~

It made me think of an elderly couple in which one has died and the other is still in love and although I dont think that was the point thats what this poem opened my mind into and It made me sad because today we were talking about my great grandma who doesnt want to go to a nursing home because she wont be able to take her dead husbands pictures with her and she feels as if her husband is with her when she has the pictures and its so sad because as we get older the people we love do die and its like a ghostly love thats eternally there especially with elderly people.
Great write Sis, made me think!

Oh, wow, I love this one, and it's the first one I have read of your's. I dunno if read correctly, but I felt this person who's love is very strong and very deep, is held inside. So sad, but beautiful. I really enjoyed reading. :o)

This is fabulous. It's bittersweet and truthful. We should all learn and grow from your words. There is much to be said and much pain to feel. Lovely write my dear.

Seems to me we ALL could take a little advice from that
ghost. And by the way...the male ghost looks exactally
    like one of my friends...uncanny...

This is beautiful in it's depth and mystique. It has a lonely quality to it, haunting and sensual. I like it a lot.

Myself hon, I don't feel very ghostly, but open and searching for love. Come out little ghostly love from wherever you are and we will dance among the stars. Bill

This was different Susan beautifuly sad like trying to love at distance to keep from failure and heartache from imperfections. Or the letting of one down being afraid to reach out being a ghost afraid.....to be hurt.....mess up but loving inside...Something like that right hon???Hugs and love,Sherry

Very interesting poem! Why a ghostly love? Why shouldn't the man who is loved know that he is loved? So many questions. Shows what a good poet you are...leaving the readers to make up their own minds about the intent of your poem. Enjoyed the mystery...very nicely done!

    first line..a ghostly [love]

    ((Hugs))
    Love Ya,

So lovely, Susan. I see a double entrendre, too. In the whole piece, yes haunting, yet desirous. Oh to know that ghostly affection. The chill at the back of the neck as he moves past. This was so romantic a thought. Wonderful picture. And how creative you are.
