A Yellowean Rhapsody

Missing image

Calming lullabies
And falling butterflies
Gently lifting lonesome dollies
Calling for their lick-em-lollies
Spilling ladle-fulls of lemon
Sticky fingers
Dipping them in
Pinching, flinching
Teasing, pleasing
Laughing, learning
Lighters burning
Lit the night up
With my flashlight
Found the rock
Who's shape will splash right
Lipping "Love-you"s
To the sky way
Yellow lines
That mark the highway
Lead me where the roads don't end
'Cause living life's my only friend!

    sweet...

I like the color yellow. It's always comfortable to look at. Your poem reminds me of my childhood so sweet. Your poem has a claming effect if you keep saying the words.

those memories that one keeps as treasures from the past!

    Good!

There were, I felt, a few errors in structure here, but they were blessedly few and minor. I really like this. It's one of the best instances I can remember that captures a bit of childhood very well. Good job!

The sunny side of the street has certainly found you tonight!!!!- LITERALLY!!!- HA, HA, HA.

This poem reminds me of so many happy memories, and some of them I really don't know why, but they're happy and that's the whole point. Awesome job with this.

This is fantastic. Really brightened up my day, I liked the butterfly at the top, gave more meaning, not that you needed it. A kind iof acrefree poem making you think about summer and life, or at least I did anyway.

I like this, I almost felt as if it could be in one of the childrens nursery rhyme books though I just got that impression because of the things mentioned in it. Very nicely written, the flow and the rhyme and of course...the memories.

Jeepers... I got an "I prefer blue" comment on the last poem I wrote about yellow too! All you "blue" people make me sick. Don't you know that blue is a homonynmn for feeling sad and being depressed? What kind of a favorite color is that? Sorry 'bout that, you know I love you Abs.
