30 more minutes and again i'll be alone.
I love you mom I say when I'm done,
I hear a click,
It's another battle un-won.
When did I last hear a hint of affection whispered in my ear?
when was the last time we actually talked?
Why does It seem this bond that was so strong,
is quickly falling apart?
Where were you when I fell and needed you to repair my heart?
Where are you when I cry at night wishing I could restart,
Go back to where I messed up?
Where did I go wrong?
Author notes
I attempted writing a mothers day poem but learned the only thing I feel for my mom is negative. This is the first poem i have ever written for my mom and regretfully it is one that should have been for a holiday. I guess im just sorry that I cant be so perfect and it reflects how i feel in my poems and i only feel the need to be perfect in my mothers presence.
Sorry to all the moms and anyone else i may have affected with this. But please remember, dont be too overprotective, it drives us crazy and dont be neglectful because we need guidance.

I know how you feel too, my mom has gotten worse as I have gotten older and since I got sick..she is VERY protective and I makes me so mad sometimes,..It's my dad who is so laid back and just goes with it. I wish she would losen up just a little bit..Great write though.

I don't really know how you feel but i really like this write. It is written well and the flow was great. With my family we have to look after my mum. It's hard so I don't know how you feel. Well, my dad's the protective one.

I know EXACTLY how you feel... My mother smothers me, and it's annoying. I know that she loves me, but it causes friction. I think this must be a week to get mad at your mother or get in a big fight... Anyway, about your poem. It was, in a word, wonderful. You are exceptionally eloquent. I love the part about the unwon battle and the lack of affection. Great word choice.

Very great write. I can relate on some level...I feel much the same about my mom, and the poems I've written for/about her are all very dark or sad. It sad so many have relationships like this with their mom (or dad's). Great job, and I hope you can someday have the relationship you want with your mom...I hope that for everyone.

I can't write a poem about my mother and be nice. She threw me out of the house this morning because I told her I couldn't light the hot water heater or I'd be late for school. Nice poem, I don't think you'll offend anyone with this, because of the way you presented it. You stated your opinion in a very nice way, without being rude or anything, so I don't think you have anything to worry about. Nice job.

This was really great, the same thing happened to me when i tried to write a poem about my mom, http://allpoetry.com/Poem/926219, I think a lot of people have relationships like this with their mothers (or fathers) and I think everyone can relate to this on some level. I hope you can work things out with your mother whether or not you think she deserves it, sometimes even though its hard its better to just forgive people for their past actions.

This is great, I can relate.....I tried to write a poem for my mom to, and all it consisted of were things I hate about her...which wouldn't be a good thing for her on mother's day. lol Great write, keep up the good work!
