"Strange angels keep decent company" a wise woman once said.
Was she right? I don't know, but it stuck in my head.
I never thought I'd meet one, I doubted they were true.
I never knew knew an angel, until I was familiar to you.
And you're strange, no doubt, but very kind.
You see emotions, all things you find.
Sometimes I wish you weren't quite so good;
it reminds the rest of us of us that it's how we could
be, if only we were a little better- but we're not.
You're the better sides of all of us that we all have fought.
But I think it's not your fault, and probably better in the end-
so here's your birthday poem, you, my incomparable friend.
