Unanswered Prayers

Unanswered Prayers...

There is a myth across this land,
known as unanswered prayers.
I tell you there is no such thing,
God always hears and cares.

We look for yes, when God says no,
And sometimes not right now.
We say He does not answer us,
Although, He does somehow.

So, don't think God does not answer,
When you don't get your way.
Because the Lord does answer you,
Every time that you pray.

Author notes

Well, it took me awhile to learn this for myself, but, it really is true. God does answer all our prayers. Just sometimes not in the way that we wanted.

Wow, I see my real mom was your last commenter There are NO prayers that go unanswered, only answers we don't want to hear or are not ready for. I want to share something with you. Recently, I lost my way and drifted from God. All the time, I heard a still, small voice telling me if I would just take a leap of faith..the next step would be his. Do you know what my answer was, "well I can't even find my bible!!" For days I looked and looked, everywhere I thought. Then, one night at my darkest hour, I heard the voice again. I gave my same response but, this time I closed my eyes and really spoke to God. You know what happened, I opened my eyes and right on the floor in front of me was my bible... "The Promise" I KNOW I looked everywhere!! God always answers us and he always heeps his promises You did a brillant job of stating that so eloquently here. Btw, from that experience came my poem, "The Promise",,,God certainly works in mysterious ways!!

    Great

What an amazing poem you have written Penny, and so true. It always seems that we can hear God when He says "yes" to our prayers, but want to turn a deaf ear to his "no's". Thanks for this, take care,
    Heather

My prayers are always heard. Sometimes the answer is silent because it is no.
    I liked this very much.

    PennyB,
This poem is so inspirtaional. You really lifted my head up and made me realize it. I know he has answered my prayres is the past. I always wanted to have one person who really cares about me. I would pray every night thinking maybe one person would just care. And I finally got that one person. I thank god for him too. See I never was that pretty. I always wanted one person. I never had a true best friend and I never had a boyfriend who really was one. My parents always perfered my brother and my half sister.. or so it seemed. I never got that good of grades. Everything has turned around. My life is very good right now and I thank the lord. He is a savior. He gave me Harmony.. who is more than my best friend. she is my sister that god forgot to give me... that is until now that she is... I have my parents that adore me and I have great grades which pleases them. I make them proud I guess. I had a boyfriend who is still my great friend and might still be my boyfriend... I just want to be alone right now though... I guess a litle break.. And I have lost weight so I look so pretty now. I thank the lord for all the great things he has given me. All the love he has shown me and thank you for letting me realize that it was all thanks to him!
Besides me thank you for writing this beautiful poem. You have captured the picture and made us see the details. There is so much out there that "we" all just pass it by. Now a days no one seems to care. But you show us that there is reason to care and reason to pray and reason to pay attention to the simple things! Everything happens for a reason. Other wise there wouldnt be a point to it. This is a great .. No a superb write. Keep up your fantastic talent!

    Awesome!

This is a very beautiful, flowing fountain of poetry.God always answers and cares for us.Sometimes,we must pursue the promises He gives. We must be able to know and listen for His voice,so that we can know what His will is,which is always found in His word!Sometimes,we must realize that the answer will come in HIS time, not ours! Our prayers will always be affirmed and granted,IF we learn to pray in His will, and in Jesus name!

    Dynamicly enchanting

Sad, really, that we have often thought to control God with our prayers; or worse! As Sarah (wife of Abraham) decided that she would help God fulfil his promise by giving her hand-maiden to Abraham to raise-up seed (for her).
This is a great muse (Penny and one which definitely inspires… What I really should say is: HOW TRUE-, HOW TRUE...

Thank you so much for your comment! That is the greatest compliment that I could ever have, to think that in some small way my poems might have helped someone. That is the reason why I write so many spiritual poems. For me that is the best use of my poetry. God Bless You Always and thanks again! Penny

Thank you for this powerful poem. I've gone through a lot of stuff with my parents. I would pray all night long and hope my prayer would be answered the next day. And when things progressively got worse .. I began to turn my back on God. I still feel like that sometimes. It's easier to blame Him when things don't go right. And that's what I was doing. Thank you so much for your poem .. It is true .. I know it is .. I just haven't seen evidence of that yet. But my prayers will be answered .. I know they will! Your poems always have an impact on me .. and they're always for the better! They always pop up at a time of need for me .. and I always feel better after reading them!! Great write! You have a great way with your words that touch my soul.

    Excellent

No one could have said it any better, SisPen! Indeed, God does answer ALL prayers, even those of the wicked because He gives them the desires of their hearts; as He does all of us. The sheep, however, do hear no from time to time and, always, everything God's does is in His perfect timing. I've learned this lesson so well that now I don't worry about anything. After all, God has everything under perfect control.

Excellent poem with an excellent message, dear one. This one should appear in Monday's TSaS NUTS! Well, after you take another look stanza two, third line. Seems our blond roots always get in the way.

Lots of love and hugs, SisB♥n

Beautifully spoken and written. This reminded me of my brother. He used to always say, "God answers all prayers, only sometimes the answer is no!" This really made me think way back then and I uderstand it much better now. God has His plan and His reasonings behind the things He does and if we are patient we will see what He is doing. I have lost a few friends over the past year who I thought to be kind and caring Christians so I was devastated when I lost them and asked God why. Being a new Christian I was so readily available to listen to whomever claimed to be a Christian. I realized these people were not Christians at all and the Devil sometimes fools us using God's persona. I think God was teaching me how to tell the difference. I am thankful for that lesson now. Thank-you for sharing this wonderful piece of knowledge.

    Hi Penny,
This is very insightful and lovely. I agree with your poem God answers our prayers only that sometimes we just have to wait for the right time. Sometimes He does not give what we asked because He knows that we deserve something better. Bless you my friend. Hugs, Eris

Thank you sweetie. Yes, God does know best. I can look back on some of the things that I prayed for and I am just so glad that God said no, even though I thought I really wanted yes at the time. Much love, Mommie Penny

You are very right in your message. I have found that all of my prayers have been answered. They may not have been even remotely close to the day I said them, but nonetheless they were heard.
