A modest drop of morning dew
Lies still upon a flower’s leaf
The iris-speckled hills exalt
The close of dusk, of whom was brief
A burst of streaming luminance
Lifts upward, pouring into sight
An endless flock of chanting birds
Swarm through the open air in flight
A butterfly nears the glass pane
An array of hues painted on each wing
It depicts a veiled sense of hope
In its vow of unceasing Spring
A mellow breeze proceeds aloft
Flowing through the swaying grass
I watch its subtle whereabouts
From afar, my view from the glass
Author notes
I thought perhaps this poem would fit the occasion; the first day of May brings a great deal of wonder and change to nature.

I love how you wrote this poem through the view of a window pane, from the inside looking out. I can just picture a butterfly flying up to the glass! Good luck in the contest.
