o r even say.
L eaving you alone in the nursing home really
e licits my anger and helplesness
t hat I can’t be your caretaker anymore or
e ven your friend and companion;
t hat I must leave you in our dear Lord’s hands
i n faith that He is protecting you
a ll through the long days and nights.
J ust as you always comforted me
a nd loved me despite our different ways and ideas,
n ow all I want is to comfort you and
e verytime I think of you I don’t know how to pray.
I pray dear Jesus at this time of my grief and loss:
l et Jane be held in Your arms both day and night.
o versee the nurses and doctors as they minister to your child’s
v ery frail and damaged body and mind;
e nergize her soul with Your love and protect her
y et one more day as You have every day
o f her eighty-five years on this earth;
u ndo the evil satan planned for your child
a s she loves You and gave her life to You,
l ove her with an everlasting love;
w hen she lies there still and cemented in her bed,
a dd joy to her spirit and laughter to her soul
y et one more day before You take her
s o gently to her forever home with You.
AMEN.

It is the hardest thing in the world to put a parent...in law or not, in a nursing home. This is a lovly prayer. Thank you so much for entering the contest.

Beautiful
This is so sad. She is a stunningly beautiful women, though, I must admit. I know she has aged and obviously does not look like that anymore, but I am sure even as age has taken it's toll that she is still stunningly beautiful. I don't share your religion, but I do hope that you will permit me to pray in my own way for her. And for you as well. -
This is a lovely prayer for your MOther in law. I feel the same way too, my mother in law is already old and getting sick sometimes. I am afraid of what the future hold for her. I hope that your Mom will be able to cope. God will never leave those who are faithful to Him. I am with you in your prayers.
Bless you! Hugs, Eris

This is very loving and bittersweet. I know that it must have been incredibly hard to leave her in a nursing home. I pray with you that she will be well taken care of. God Bless, Penny

Thank you so much. This is really the first one I have written. I've seen the form done so well on this site I sort of forced myself into writing this for Jane. I think I like it and I think I was able to express as much as I could today using this form. Thanks a whole bunch!

excellent
I have always found this form of poetry very difficult, to say the least. You do extremely well with this expression. If there were something that I might contribute to the betterment of this poetry I would, however I love it just the way it is. SP
