The key is old and rusted
But well it turns the lock
For this so many have lusted
Those that have seen the dock
After seven hundred years
Of hiding in its place
A young girl's timid tears
Will reveal it's weathered case
For such a time as this
She was borne an earthen mortal
The end of a child's bliss
Will open the yellow portal
The world beyond will make her great
But again she will return
Inside her heart lies the fate
Of all that have ever yearned

'A preview of my next novelish peice.'
I reckon the novel's going to be great. The poem flowed well and the rhyming was unforced. It's really good, just one little thing... I think in the 4th line of the 2nd stanza, 'wheathered' is meant to be 'weathered'. Other than that, a great write. Well done
