True Love

Holding you in my loving arms
As I rock you back and forth slowly
You look up at me with baby blues
These little fingers holding my pinkie
Letting out a simple small sigh
As you close your eye lids sweetly
You yawn and I kiss your little hands
These moments I enjoy the most
Putting you down on your yellow blanket
As your thumb goes into your mouth soundly
You dream sweet dreams of puffy clouds
These heights you can reach now
Rocking now in my old rocking chair
As you snooze there in your bed peacefully
You turn over once and hold your teddy
These silent times I sit back and smile

Very Nice Write Girl! As I myself am waiting to be holding my little one in my arms come September I know how you are feeling. Although we know the sex of our baby, (Think pink) it is lovely how you took the yellow blanket and still kept our imagination unfolding. Great job! Keep up the great work and Congratulations on the wedding! It's wonderful, isn't it?
    Hugs,
    Your AP sista!

When I read this, I thought of those precious moments with my own children as babies. It's got to be just about the most wonderful emotion in the world. At the time you wrote this, it seems this was just speculative feelings since you don't yet have a child. Then Iread in one of your reply comments that now you're expecting. Well, my dear, you will soon experience first hand the wonderful feeling you've expressed in your poem
When it happens, treasure those feelings, those memories. Engrave them into your brain, then when you no longer have babies to hold you canthink back, as I have, and relive those precious moments. There's no comparison to anything in the world that I know of.

    A super write
    Dee

    Pure magic

Pure magic. The wealth of energy , calm and pure moments of bliss you can hold by watching a baby at rest may very well be what keeps this world spinning. Very nicely penned.
