II. (When Death Speaks)

II. (When Death Speaks)

-Oraculum Letum
I still hear the echoes
from when you last spoke
I did not cry
again last June
immune of sorrow
when the given
becomes the taken
The earth recalls
all her children
numbness
as my fingers clutched
crushed a white carnation
kissed a mothers
cold cheek
one last time

    Bravo. Excellent Work

A very solomn speech of death; thoughts here of loss. A moving work Todd, packed with many emotions encompassing sorrow, anger, love, sadness. A mover as I expected. This needs to be read slowly, carefully, and out loud for the full effect. Amazing. ~Pam
