A Prayer Across The Ocean

Bless you for serving our country,
American landscape seems far away.
Do your best in Iraq, Afghanistan,
you are in our prayers every day.

May the good Lord watch over you,
you are America's bravest and best.
Sacrificing for your love of country,
stand tall to fight freedom's quest.

So mighty, brave and fearless,
some wise beyond their young years.
With soldiers like you to protect us,
our homeland has nothing to fear.

May God bless you all and keep you,
wrapped in His arms safe and sound.
May He protect you from the enemy,
and the nightly mortar rounds.

When you finally come marching home,
your families will be here for you.
We will be proud and honor you all,
we salute the red, white and blue.

Though far away in a foreign land,
you are still in your family's heart.
QOur prayers echo across the ocean,
till we are no longer apart.

this was so beautiful.. and I think a great kindness on your part to take the time to pen a thank you to the boys who are out risking their lives for all of us here at home. I wish there was a way each and every one of them could see this so they would know that they are loved by a grateful nation. Very very good poem. God bless, Mary

    A soldier in the military
    giving up his entire life
So you can be free from harm
be free from pain and strife

Carrying a gun in his hand
and a grenade in the other
    Sticking by every soldier
and caring from them as a brother

Now the people here at home
    doing nothing but complain
While our young men are dying
    and suffering immense pain

    We should be behind them
    every step of the way
Showing our love for them all
    each and every single day

    Why cast stones at them
    it's not their fault
For they aren't the ones that
hold the key to the vault

    They are simply protecting you
    from the enemies at hand
I just hope this world will soon
    one day just understand

We are very fortunate to have
    the freedom we have today
And I think it's time that we
    finally stand up and say

"That I am proud to be an american
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
And I'll gladly stand up, next to you
    and defender her still today
Cuz there aint no doubt I love this land
    God Bless the U.S.A.

Sandy, this was a beautiful tribute to our soldiers over there fighting everyday, dying everyday, and just giving up their life so we can be free and live in peace and harmony with one another. I thank you for your love and support and I am always in prayer for you and I will always be here I love you with all my heart and never forget that!! I love You!! God Bless You!!!!

    splendid

Sandy, this will touch so many hearts for this is truly magnificent in the undertones for the many that do serve for us here at home that do have the freedom to live life in our country while those men overseas dedicate their life for our reign of victory of Saddam and many other world terroist...
so sad we need to remain in a war that seems so worthless
    to me and others
could we not find another item to use in place of oil so we would no longer need to purchase the stuff from anywhere.
I believe in solar power and fossel fuels that are safer than that rich petroleum crap....
you have such a beautiful heart and dedicated joy for the soldiers.

    Tamara
