I Sang...

I sang to you
"To kiss in the sunlight"...
But you never heard
You weren't there to see me bare my soul
And you never knew
Never understood
I shouted from the rooftops
And it echoed back
My voice, alone
I tried to reach you
I tried to make you see
But you only had eyes for one
One man
Not me
And now I know
The silver moon
Our humming meadow
Were all a dream
And you're waking up now
But what of me?
Still I slumber...

That was sad. And it was kind of like a song itself. It was very nice. I don't know what else to say. It was sweet and sad and I liked it.

This is a really amazing and powerful piece- your emotion really shows through beautifully... and that's also what makes this piece so beautiful. This poem is a beautiful tribute to unrequited love- but I happen to have seen some cases in my life when this kind of patient, faithful love does pay off. Sometimes the smart ones, when they're done chasing fancies, actually do turn around and see the ones who have always been there... waiting. Bless you!

You really conveyed the feelings of loneliness and longing that come with a love that is felt but not returned. good job and good luck in the contest.
