Where She Dwells

As I walked into her room
The scent of condensed womanliness
Overwhelmed me, she had spilled her perfume
In an effort to throw herself together
Her face was a prism of make-up and beauty
And her eyes were so excited, dancing twirling
I may have spoken too soon,
But to her, this was not a concept
I could have arrived last week, last year
She still would have embraced me
The words she spoke, so delicately
Filled the room with smoke
Collapsing, our body frames created a two-story house
Forgetting make-up and nervousness, her chapstick drifted
From lip to lip, cheek to cheek
Remnants of this berry substance gleam
As we dance, smile, bloom
We are sparkling like champagne
