Two cheeks that snuggle,
A soft, sensitive hand in mine,
Two loves that share a cuddle,
Is as the warmth of sunshine.
A tranquil, gentle embrace,
Arms drawing two near,
A smile upon a pleasing face
Calms away any fear.
Meeting bodies warm and tender
Imparts a tiny hint of elation.
Love is sorrow's mender,
Turning grief to jubilation.
A face full of life's struggle,
Rough hands worn with time,
Lonely tears make a murky puddle.
Cold clouds blot the sunshine.
Life's tumultuous, cruel race,
Fists drawn in hatred and fear,
Ages a weary and tired face.
And agitates the bitter tear.
A life to touch, a life to take,
Destroy or mend the creation.
Love or hate is the choice we make.
Will it be peace or tribulation?

You speak of a powerful truth here! WE all have this choice and why so many choose tribulation is beyond me. Almost everyone has reasons to be angry and bitter, but why chose that, when we can find love, peace and beauty in life, even amoung pain. I agree with this passionately!!!

My goodness...10 years ago you were truly inspired
I love this. I too believe that we choose our level of happiness in this world. We are given everything within ourselves to either make our life work or not....a choice. Well written piece.

Wow, at first this made me wonder, "why isn't this in the love category?" But now I see where you were going with it
I abosolutely adore poems with morals to 'em, and this one's is obvious. Great job!
