Pretending to be someone you're not.
Pretending like you care.
Pretending that everything's all right.
Why do we all pretend?
The world sees us as who we pretend to be,
But what about those who know the REAL you?
How do they feel when you blow them off?
How do they feel when you say things about them?
Why can't you be who you are
instead of pretending to be who you're not.
People see through your everyday lies,
but they don't say a word.
They're afraid that you'll deny it.
When you're with your friends, you act "normal."
But around everyone else, you act "fake."
Why must you make yourself unhappy
trying to please others?
Pretending to be who you're not
MIGHT make you happy for a little while,
but what are you going to do when you're not happy
anymore?
Stop pretending?
It's not as easy as it seems,
because then people will think you're pretending to be
someone else,
when you're only being you.
So why pretend in the first place?
It only ends in unhappiness.
Stop and think about what you want,
and not what other people want for you.

This is awesome! I can totally relate, because I used to change myself to be who people wanted me to be...a "fake", as you call it. I really wasn't happy and I had never seen it until my parents started noticing a change in me. Thankfully, I was able to finally find who I truly was and now that's who I try to be instead of someone I'm not. You're extremely correct, pretending results in unhappiness. Anywho, you did an awesome job on this. It's very expressive and I enjoyed reading it!
