When I lie awake at night,
I think of you and sigh.
You can make me feel alright,
You can make me want to try.
When I lie awake at night,
My room coated in a blanket of silence,
I think of how you made things bright,
and atoned for all the violence.
The violence in the world that makes us quake with fear,
That takes away the very ones that we hold dear...
Just seems to disappear as soon as you appear.
I've never known anyone like you.
Someone who'll take care of me when chaos ensues.
Now I must go, but before I say adieu-
When I lie awake at night,
I'll think of you and sigh.
Thanks for making things alright,
Thanks for getting me to try.
