Thanks
For making me feel that my weaknesses
are part of my boyish charm
For lending me your arm
When my excesses get the better of me
For beaming your pride at my triumphs
And withering those who would demean them
For picking me up from my failures
Moulding them into moral victories
Thanks
For fashioning two precious daughters
from the warmth of our passion
Somehow passing me the credit
When all that was required of me
Was to love those images of you
Who, swathed in your young mother love
Knew nothing but to return bubbling affection
while my heart burst with pride
Thanks
For filling me with youth when I'm old
Finding the boy in the weary man
For blinding me with beauty
Which is no reflection of the past
But a new and vibrant vision
The pictured lover of my dreams
Beside me when I wake each day
A startling and a wond'rous reality
Thanks

This is an incredible write you have penned here. I entered the same very contest and was wondering how come I did not win this contest, obviously, it is quite clear, your words are very sincere, mellow, touching, and true. I do love it a lot. Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing. Congratulation on winning my gold

Ahhh...such a beautifully penned poem. ANY woman would love to hear these words from the man she loves. After all the years together, they must mean even more. I am absolutely crazy about the first stanza. That alone would make me swoon if my husband voiced it to me.
Congratulations. You truly deserved the gold. ~ Joyce

You declared your feelings in such a beautiful way but with an underlying sense of humility which touched me and reminded me that there are no age limits where Love is concerned.
Thank you for your entry and best wishes in the judging.
Love Margaret

I don't usually like love poetry, but I really liked this. This woman's lucky, and I can only hope to find something this amazing in the future.

good job -
This almost has the feel of a Hallmark greeting card. I bet you could give this as a mother's day Present. She will think it is the most amazing gift of all time. If I am wrong, have a back up diamond on hand. You can't go wrong with that.

Well the little bit of strong rhyme at the start is so pronounced that it really makes you expect to see it recurring. Which didn't float my boat too much.
But that's the only negative thing I can say of this.
I must say that the "beauty
Which is no reflection of the past"
was a particularly brilliant image. I really liked it.
Overall a brilliant poem. -
