Broken Reality

I've learned it's easier to hide
Than admit you are breaking inside.
At night I lay in bed and cry
Sometimes wondering why I even try.
I've learned I can plaster a smile upon these lips
And ignore the faded scars upon my wrists.
I've learned to be thankful I'm alive and well
Yet wonder still, why I hide my hidden life of hell.
Trying to make sense of it all
I am hopelessly lost, and I take a thundering fall.
Landing down hard on my palms and on my knees
I cry helplessly out muted pleas.
No one wants to hear I am breaking down inside
It's easier to bottle everything up and hide.
My sparkling smile is self trained
No one could ever see my true pain.
The untold stories that will never fade upon my arms
Left me unprotected from life's emotional harms.
I'm left all alone to suffer in my broken reality
Awaiting in sorrow for someone to help rescue me..

wow, because this poem was inspired by crimsonrazor's poem, i now must go and read it, because this was extraordinary. everything that you said in here was so true, and i really understood what you were saying. it's like i've trained myself to smile and keep my chin up but it still doesn't make my feelings of doubt as to why i'm here and why i even bother anymore go away. great job, this was fantastic.
