Have you ever noticed
That the tighter you grasp,
Sweat beads on your palms
And you can't hold on?
This is the most true
For those intangible,
Indistinct, yet precious
Things that slip away.
The mind is frightened
And cannot release
As the heart grips firmly,
Smothering this thing.
Time, do not leave me!
Do not fly away so swift.
Your wings beat softly,
"Tick Tock Tick Tock."
Your sun races away
On awkward, young legs.
Eternity can wait
For the now and here.
Your indefinite definition
Shifts toward the instant,
Where day becomes hour
And hour, a moment.
I beg you, slow your motion!
I haven't the strength
To sprint through this life.
Calm your pounding feet.
Eternity can wait
For the now and here.

Great
I loved your words. They were so sincere and beautiful, making a great poem. The flow is excellent and the message you write about is clear and easy to understand and feel.
Keep peening. -
I quite enjoyed this poem. The subject it revolves around is present in our every day lives.. we are always running, trying to beat the clock. If only we could slow it down at will (; Very well written and I don't think I can find any faults so I shall leave it at that (=

good
A very well written peice of poetry. especially the first set of lines. -
For the now and here, two very important times because they only come once, A well thought out poem and very well done. beautiful.

Mr. D?
Like the inversion of "here and now." Time is relative, I always say, and you seem to mean something of that sort, except to one end only. Are you getting nervous about graduation and moving on to the big times? "You'll... be... SWELL! You'll be great!" Everything's coming up BECKERS.
Great job with this piece, Beck. Next time inform me when you've written something. Unlike you, I WANT to read your stuff.
