very quickly I saw
beneath the Monty Python skits
a vulnerable young man
a semi-serious scholar
with a beautiful smile
and red stubble
and in his eyes I saw
the future

Short, but very beautiful and tantalizing in some kind of way
this reminded me of a poem I have written strangely enough
lol
Great piece again!

Absolutely lovely.. and refreshing.. there's so much said here in such simplicity, that it carries a lot of depth. Though it's personal I'd say it is at once 'touchable' because the images are both concrete and abstract, and the way you worded it leaves it open for many... maybe not with the red stubble, but the essence of it.

Thank you Gennelle!
That, and the examination of the witch, and the Spanish Inquisition, and also lots from Beyond the Fringe. If the way to a man's heart is his stomach, then I suggest a woman's heart is won through her funny bone!

Thank you Del!
Some years are better than others.
Since my esoteric muse has gone on vacation, I'm happy you like this spate of lovey-doveyness.

Say na more, nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
My son is always telling me "Pokemons are small...but they pack a powerful punch..." It seems like a worthy quote for me to use concerning your wonderfully penned free verse. Nice to see you step out of the box, (and why not), with a topic which is obviously near and dear to your heart. Thanks for the glimpse into your life. I happen to be very glad to hear there are others who are still in love after 40.

Dear Margaret,
Lucky feller! A three-year courtship with a semi-serious scholar? How serious can you get?
A great little poem and a wonderful tribute to a great marriage. Edna and I wish you both continuing and lasting happiness. Applause.
Love and hugs

He likes Python! He's my friend already! I hope you guys didn't do the fish slapping sketch!
Very sweet and wonderful to see a happily married couple, almost gives me hope.

If you were to see me near the stairs of our Classroom Complex in this year 2005, the description would not be pretty much different.
It was nice to see a free verse from you. You generally do not write it, and you have done it very well. It is so sweet to read about you people and your sweet days. Hope that you as a couple are having a nice time, and continue to have better and better times together!

You are blessed in great measure! This gives a delightful peek into a fast and secure love. Tender, inspiring and hope-lending. Few lines but much goodness shared.
