Journey Into Life

Awoken
The spirit of life leaches into me
Flooding every fragment of my soul
Every breath
Strengthening my desire to live
And filling my heart with love

Light
Pours into my eyes from every angle
Blinding without regret
Eternal bond
Content with the knowledge I am loved
By those who conspired to bring me here

Smiles
Everywhere I look
As I greet this solemn world
Little angel
Perhaps for a short while
Guide me well and blessed I will be

Arrived
At last into welcoming arms
Yet before I rest
Thank you
To mum, dad and god above
For to them I am born
And forever adorned with love.

Author notes

I wrote this after reading other poetic works and was inspired to describe arrival through the eyes of a baby.

This was so beautifully written and I love how you were inspired by other works of arrival of birth through a baby's eyes. What an original idea! I like how you emphasized the words Awoken, Light, Smiles, & Arrived. The style in which you chose to write was so lovely & I really enjoyed reading this. A treasure! Thank you for entering & best of luck

Excellent and tender. Your folks were blessed to have you as their child, just as I am blessed to have you as my AP son.
You are special. Technicals in this are perfect... tone is what one would expect from a baby - you have presented a great write here!

A most befitting tribute to your parents and God above -all working together in producing a poet of great words deep feelings and the ability to emote- a wonderful combination through the eyes of a baby -very interesting concept indeed.
