The Dance of Love

Everyone dances this dance at least once
Some time and time again...
This time was different
There she was in a black dress;
hair covering her face;
in the corner of the dance hall
her beauty- anything but small
I walk toward her
Many others ask to dance with me
but I say no as I continue my path
I must meet her
But wait...
Another asks her before me
I'll wait
Unsatisfied with the dance,
she sits down again before the song ends
I get approached again, but reply negatively
I must meet her
A new song begins
I approach her with all my heart
& ask "Care to dance?"
A small smile and she says "yes."
I lead her to the center floor,
my heart beats rapidly.
could this be love?
We begin
She is different then the others
Pushing her hair out of her face,
I stop in astonishment.
Wow, she is beautiful
...then I notice the cross on her choker
She's the one
The song ends, I slip "I love you"
She smirks and replies, "I love you"
Caught completely off guard I nearly loose balance
"But you must wait, I am not ready," she informs
Humbly, I reply, " I'll wait as long as you need"
I've found my love
