Poetry

Poetry, poetry it fills my head,
as I'm lying stuck in my bed.
so many times to me it's said:
"come to me, come to me."

So long it has been out of reach,
or I've been stuck on a faraway beach,
but still it sucks me like a leech,
"come to me, come to me"

Now I come to this familiar post,
armed with nothing but a piece of toast,
but still it haunts me like a ghost,
"come to me, come to me"

Here I am trying to gather my muse,
to get words from my head before my mind I do lose,
I wish the time I could choose when they say:
"come to me, come to me"

    LOVED THIS!!! AMAZING WRITING!!!

Reminds me of a song I have heard lately resuface after decades since released. The title I believe is "Poetry Man" by Phoebe Snow. You should download that song. One of the most beautiful and most emotional female voices you will ever hear, in the way she beckons to her Love, a married man, whom is like Poetry to her, for her. Your poetry here reminded me how poetry can come alive for us and in so many ways, we may never have expected, & in ways we have yet discovered as well. Great Thoughts with this one to have provoked that old great song of the 70's. I do hope you will take the time to download it, you will then feel poetry as very possibly, you may not have known existed. That song went to the top of the chrts and never made it to #1, but then a lot of beatles songs we now treasure never did either.
Take Care, Great reading this, these your poetic inspirations to yourself and that force that lies behind your thoughts that is so evident in keeping you as a lover ...of itself... Poetry!!!
