Sharp tongues spew heated words;
Heavy hearts cry out for change;
Opinions gained through ignorance;
Can we make a difference?
Racial tensions, just our prejudice;
Black, white, hispanic, asian;
Walk, talk, think and be human;
Can we make a difference?
Gays and lesbians fight for rights;
Woman to woman, man to man;
Fear for life in everyday scenes;
Can we make a difference?
Women shrink from the man's hand;
Children cower in bed at night;
Travel with weapons to protect innocence;
Can we make a difference?
Hungry children wander streets;
No shoes, no food, no medicine;
Americans paid, crops go to waste;
Can we make a difference?
Women raped, all beheaded;
Suicidal bombing terrorists;
Hate all because of religion;
Can we make a difference?
Enough talking, time for action;
Bring back progressives, bring back fighters;
Protests, sit-ins, burning monks;
We can make a difference!

Wow. What an AWSOME poem. I love how you adress nearly every soical problem that plagues are planet. Its cool to know that someone who like poems about hell (lol) have really strong stances about the politcal ans social issues of our time. Not only that, you use GREAT words and diction hear. I love the repetion of "can we make a diference". Great write, keep it up. -

The cry for necessary change. The call to make the world better - less bitter, less hateful. As I've said before - beautifully written, as are all your works. This makes me think so much of the conversations I have with my two best friends. And politics in poetry can be so hard to pull off, not so for you, apparently.

Right on, I like this one, we can make a difference. All we've acomplished in todays society is a door to our destruction. I miss you, you never call or anything. Can I call you now? This is another awesome poem which brings out alot of points. this is a truely great poem, worthy of an aplaud. josh
