What's Really Going On

Maybe, if I tell you how things are you will see,
Jesus is the only God there will ever be.
Think for just a minute, whose name is used in vain?
No one says, "Oh, Buddha," when they are hit with pain.
This is no mistake, but by a demon's leading,
Satan stays busy with people he's deceiving.
God created Adam and Eve, who knew no sin,
This is where the devil begins to enter in.

He tempted man to do what God said not to do,
Man sinned and now his everlasting life is through.
The wages of sin is death, for sin we must die,
If you've wondered about the cross, now you know why.
Jesus came to pay for our sins so we could live,
If we ask Him to, our sins He will forgive.
The devil is still busy tempting man today,
If you are wanting proof of what I have to say,

Think for just a minute, whose name is used in vain?
No one says, "Oh Buddha," when they are hit with pain.
Why are Christians hated above all other men?
Satan keeps us busy so no souls we will win.
Each of us must die and then face a judgement day,
To be saved, Jesus Christ is the only way.
"I am the way, the truth and the life." Jesus said.
He was resurrected, our Savior is not dead.

You can talk to Jesus, anytime night or day,
If you ask Him to, He will show you He's the way.

I surely take this poem seriously, and I know it's not 'just an opinion' cause it's your belief, and you are surely convinced about it a hundred procent reading the words you have here

You also have a nice rhythm and good flow in this poem
and in fact, if I do think about it... I even sometimes say 'oh Jesus' when something doesn't go how I want it

thanks for entering, and I which you the best of luck with everything you do!

That pretty much says it all...and I really like the line about nobody says "Oh buddha".

I am so happy to find Christians who praise God and share their faith in poetry. It really is a beautiful way of expressing ourselves to God, and expressing what God has done for us. Very, very nice work.

These lines really got to me...

Oh how true those lines are!!! Each person here today...will eventually die...when the day comes!!! Thats our judgement day...what was our choice in life? Was it to follow in gods path or was it to sin throughout life...and turn to the devil? I choose god!!! That judgement day will come and you will want to turn back and change your entire life...but its too late...what will you do? Will you regret the life you lived? Worshiping the devil? Or will you enjoy eternal life in heaven on streets of gold and fields of green clovers...because you believed in jesus christ? Thats the message i got out of this poem!!! Thank you for sharing this with me! I enjoyed reading this oh so much!!! Good luck with future poems...your a very talented writer! God Bless!

    Excellent

Oh, Penny, I love the perspective you took with this wonderful witness our our dear Lord and Saviour! "No one ever said, 'Oh Buddha...'" I believe you hit the nail dead on and drove home the point exceptionally well. Awesome!

Of course, you know I must have this for next week's TSaS NUTS! I'll be expecting to see it in my emailbox.

Good luck in the contest! Lots of love and hugs, SisB♥n

I see this poem as being very serious and you speak volumes in how Chrsitianity works and what Christ will do for us for just simply believing. How great it is that someone loved us so much that they would stake their own life to save us from ourselves. I also like the way you explain things. Straight, direct and to the point. There is only One True Living God.

    Thank-you for entering the contest!

I am happy to see alot of faithful Christians here in AP, to read inspiring poems like this is refreshing to the soul and gives us knowledge too. I agree with your poem, only if we know, accept, believe, follow and love the TRUTH that we can be saved. --ERIS--

You have certainly put your beliefs out in a fine poetic form. Some of the rhyme scheme is off, but not enough to detract from the poem, and beliefs you hold. Nicely done and good luck.
