When I witness to someone
About the Lord that I serve
I do it softly
With love in each word
For if we do it harshly
And say they're bound for hell
Many will resent that
And their spirit will rebel
So I tell them that God loves them
And is gently waiting by
For them to open up the door
And invite Him to come inside
If they ask will their life be better
I will always say the truth
That there will be trials and tribulations
But God will see you through
He'll guide you down life's pathway
And when the road gets rough
He'll pick you up and carry you
And shield you with his love
He won't let Satan have you
For you now belong to Him
And over all temptations
In your heart you know you'll win
And when your life is over
And your ready to go home
God, the Father will be waiting
Because He loves you so
So if you feel your ready
All you need to do
Is invite Jesus ,into your heart
For He died on the cross for you

This was beautiful and I agree that spreading the word with love seems more effective. I know I was scared for a long time after seeing a sermon where the minister screamed the whole time that we were all sinners and we going to Hell. I was just 5. That kind of stuck for awhile. I was so happy to hear the "Jesus Loves Me Song." That is one of the good memories that Christ gave me in a plathoria of bad ones. He always let me know He was there. This helps alot and thank-you for entering.
May God bless you in all you do!

This was everything that the contest asked for and you put it across in a very easy to understand way that none Christians would be able to understand. Great poem.
