On a quest for adventure
something calling out to me
I travelled along the mountain
through a forest deep with trees
As I came to a rock ledge
such a creature did I see
a wild thing of such beauty
was looking across at me
Her spirit reached out to me
across the valley so wide
I longed to reach out to her
magic drawing me to her side
The valley covered in mist
hiding any trail or path through
but I swore I would prevail
my eyes searched for any clues
The elders they had warned me
in the legends they had told
should you kiss a valley nymph
then she will capture your soul
My wisdom said to stay here
but my desire made me go
what shall be my final fate
I can't wait for her to show

This was great! I love the image you chose, and the poem was wonderful. I like the adventurous spirit the poet shows here, and his eagerness to find out what his mountain nymph has in store, no matter what the danger.

PS The picture was from LaBelles contest choices. It was a great contest! You had to choose a picture and write a poem just from the picture. Whatever came to mind.

First off, the picture is incredibly gorgeous. Once I'm a senoir in high school I'm going to take mythology and I can't wait. You give the greatest imagery and I love it! I can see a man in my head spotting this beauty and them joining in a kiss and his soul being taken by her. Awesome job!

Nymphs happen to be one of my favorite creatuers, so naturally when I saw the title, I when a-dashing and a-clicking here to see what I would find. A tale that happens to those who dare forget the wise words of the elders has captured me, of which I am very impressed. Very nicely done.

Thanks HeavenScent4U! I really appreciate the great comment! As for the picture you will have to thank LaBelle as she gave us a few to choose from to write a poem about. I figured putting the picture into the poem just made it easier to see my choice.
