Not An Enemy

do you not see the difference in me?
we have nothing in common that I see,
our cultures are separated by the span of sea,
our beliefs so different naturally,
yet you invaded my sanctuary,
I forgive you for killing me,
we should have been friends,
not enemies

I like this on a lot too. I went to your profile and read a bit about the person behind the words here - before reading another poem. I can see where a topic such as this would be inspired by life's events for someone such as yourself.

This was also very well said. The message in this itself has so much to say and the verses follow along with the flow and rhyme.

In my first read on this, I'd guess it may have been written from the other person's perspective based on our country's history, but I do know my perception can be a bit off here and there. Regardless, a very contemplative write with so many truths lying in your verses.
