Long Live Vinyl

This is the 80's

'Frankie goes to Hollywood' to 'Relax' with the 'Two Tribes'
and 'New Order' suffered a 'Blue Monday'.
'Human League' asked 'Don't You Want Me',
while 'Soft Cell' were engrossed in a 'Tainted Love'.
'The Pretenders' had 'Brass in Pockets'
for 'Simple Minds' who were 'Alive and Kicking',
and 'The Smiths' had 'This Charming Man'.
but 'The Jam' 'Beat Surrender'
and 'Aztec Camera' were 'Somewhere In My Heart'.

'Spandau Ballet' well 'To Cut A Long Story Short'
asked 'Duran Duran' to 'Save A Prayer'.
'Howard Jones' asked 'What Is Love' and
'Culture Club' replied 'Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?'
to which 'Talk Talk' answered 'Life Is What You Make It'.
'Dream Academy' had a 'Life In A Northern Town',
'Yazoo' said 'Only You to
'The Art Of Noise' who were 'Close (to the edit)'
'Simply Red' simply said 'Money's Too Tight To Mention'

'Eurythmics' asked 'Who's That Girl'
'ABC' said she had 'The Look Of Love'
'The Stranglers' enquired,
was she the one who was 'Golden Brown'?
'Strawberry Switchblade' hadn't seen her 'Since Yesterday'
'The Specials' had Searched around the 'Ghost Town'
'The Teardrop Explodes' asked about a 'Reward'
and 'Everything But The Girl' 'Don't Want To Talk About It'!
to which 'Fairground Attraction' thought 'Perfect'!

for some that was the Eighties.

Author notes

this was some of my vinyl from the 80's and put together reads a lot different from how it played

things may have been different in the states and some of the bands may not have been as big over there as hey were in Scotland and the UK

but dont let that hinder the enjoyment and reminicising of your favourite sounds of the eighties

I absolutely love the way you have done this. It is so creative and what a wonderful way to reminisce. This was put together so well and I love the idea you had for writing a poem like this. You certainly brought it back to me.
